MovieDate — Spider-Man
The Neighborhood Hero. Every hero has to start somewhere, and for Peter Parker, it starts at home. For this MovieDate, we’re following the story of the "Friendly Neighborhood" Spider-Man. We’re moving away from the giant, cosmic threats to look at what it means to be a hero in your own backyard. It’s a story about the mistakes, the learning curves, and the heart it takes to stand up for your friends and your community, even when you're still just a kid yourself.
The Event Details:
The High-School Balance: Watching how Peter tries to navigate being a student and a hero at the same time. It’s a relatable look at the "double life" of having big responsibilities while still just wanting to hang out.
The "Friendly Neighborhood" Debrief: After the credits, we’ll huddle up to talk about the most "heroic" thing we saw that didn't involve superpowers.
Village Vibes: A chance for everyone to hang out in the mall afterward, grab some snacks, and just be "local neighbors" together.
What this MovieDate Builds:
Personal Accountability: Seeing that your actions—even the small ones—have a ripple effect on the people around you.
Resilience: Learning from Peter that failing at something is just the first step to getting it right.
Empathy: Understanding the weight of the "secret struggle" and being kinder to peers who might be going through their own challenges.
