A craft skills club with Ms. Ceres Canilao

This is a hands-on paper crafts club where you’ll cut, fold, mold, and decorate your way through techniques using paper and board from pulp jewelry to keepsake boxes.

Cut, fold, layer, mold, seal. You’ll turn everyday paper into something personal—an organizer, a wearable, a keepsake.

How to work with paper as a structural and artistic material

How to measure, fold, and construct organizers and boxes

How to curate and present a small collection of your work

How It Works

🗓️ 8 sessions, 1 hour each, once a week (Tuesdays)

💻 Online only

✂️ Each session includes a short demo, guided activity, and reflection

🎨 Affordable materials (mostly recycled)

Paper Molder

  • Start with a warm-up craft and choose a personal inspiration theme.

  • Learn pulp and strip methods. Create simple wearable art.

  • Design a pencil holder or desk box using board and decorative paper.

  • Make a decorative picture frame using layering, rolling, and quilling.

Paper Wizard

Paper Master

  • Review all finished works. Practice describing and labeling them.

  • Present your mini-collection with a short guided talk

  • You’ll get an official Sunnyside Certificate of Completion—proof you crafted original pieces, stuck with your build schedule, and learned real techniques you can use again and again.

  • Construct a lid-and-base keepsake box with customized lining.

  • Paint and seal your jewelry. Learn color layering, decoupage, and varnish.

  • No, but they’re easy to find in bookstores or recycled at home.

  • You can contact the coach between sessions if you need help.

  • Drying time varies based on glue and water ratio. Thin layers help.

  • It may be drying unevenly. Make sure your pulp is mixed well and dries in a balanced space.

  • Ceres Canilao is a practicing museum curator and lecturer who’s worked with the National Museum of Fine Arts, managing exhibitions and collections across 35 galleries.

    She also teaches Art History, Art Theory, and Museology at the University of the Philippines Baguio. With over a decade of hands-on experience, she’s excited to share the tools and thinking behind how museums preserve memory through objects

  • Craft materials are affordable, accessible, and mostly reusable. We encourage teens to use recycled paper, magazines, and scrap cardboard when possible. Sessions are creative but structured.

    Your child may request help setting up their workspace during build-heavy sessions.
